Characterization and isolation of cancer stem cells: Implications in Prevention and Therapy

Abstract: This workshop reviews methods involved in characterization and identification of cancer stem cells and related practical methods for research in-vitro and in-vivo. Different isolation methods such as membrane markers, side population and functional assays will be discussed along with ideas for developing a successful collaborative program focused on cancer stem cells.

Group A: Environmental exposures of interest in Iran: exposures, estimated number of people potentially exposed, estimated levels of exposure.

Group B: Occupational exposures of interest in Iran: Jobs of interest, Exposures, estimated number of workers  potentially exposed, estimated levels of exposure

Group C: “Low hanging fruits in Iran”: Best buys for preventive actions in environment/work.

Group D:  Does recognized occupational/ environmental cancer represent only a tip of cancer iceberg? Is so, why?

Group E: Exposure to Second-Hand smoke  in Iran

Group F:  Asbestos and silica as a  cancer hazards in Iran

Group E:  Air Pollution and lung cancer
